Go on Girl!

I saw this beautiful photo on Joyce Meyer's Facebook page and it made me think about my poem, "Go on Girl."

Of course this saying can be motivation for many different issues, which is why I love it!

My poem is about heartbreak and encouragement after a break up.  Sometimes we let love get us down, but there's always a reason to...go on girl.  :)

Go On Girl

Go on with yourself,
You know there’s nothing left

Here to see;
It evidently was not meant to be.

Why are you hanging around
With your face on the ground?

So low you can’t even see
How foolish you’ve turned out to be.

Crying and carrying on,
Acting like your livelihood is gone,

When you know it’s only a phase,
Just another love sick craze.

I know he was the bomb
But girl you’ve got to move on,

You’re wasting time
For the new love you’ll find.

Because there’s one around the corner,
Hopefully he’ll be a loner,

He’ll have no one else to handle
And he’ll be all yours to tackle.

You’ll be getting along just fine,
Just keep in mind:

Better to have loved and lost
Than to have never loved at any cost.

But keep his love in a special part,
A secret corner of your heart.

Let his memory live,
But only until

Your new love manifests
And you’ll be back at your best,

A new diva reformed
With a new man to charm.

So go on girl,
Walk freshly into a new world,

Leave the past behind,
Because in time

You’ll eventually see
How good true love is supposed to be.
