My Punishment
I fell into you,
Everything about you,
You drew me in.
Your words,
Your smile,
Your touch.
Your sincerity was refreshing,
Unimaginable.
My inhibitions disappeared
As I allowed you
To pull me in,
Further and further
Into the mystery of you.
Your essence promised me
That you would never betray me.
With a blind heart,
I took a leap of faith
And I allowed you to take over.
My soul belonged to you,
And your heart belonged to me.
Now your heart is hardened
And is no longer mine.
Empty inside,
As I wonder through
This nothingness
You have left me in.
Betrayal after loyalty.
Is this my punishment?
