April is National Poetry Month!

Spreading poetic love for National Poetry Month! 💞💕💟

Check out my poem, It's Midnight, from Feeling Poetic, A Book of Poetry.

I've found that this poem means different things to different people, which is why it's one of my favorites.

It’s Midnight

It’s midnight,
As I sit in your darkness.
Trying to get up,
But I cannot see
And can’t find my way
Out of this.

Lonely I sit,
In the middle of
Nowhere.
Too much time to think
About how I landed
In this place.

Blind to what is going on,
And blind to what to do next.

It’s midnight,
And the blackness
Has me entranced,
Frozen,
It’s intoxicating.

I long for daylight,
It seems so far away.

I long to understand you,
To know why you love me
And don’t show it.
And why I love you
And can’t help
From letting you know it.

Why you cast me to midnight
And leave me there
With no answers,
With no direction.
And then decide
When to give me daylight,
When to let me see.

Your control
Is only what I let it be,
But midnight
Always blurs my vision.
And my longing to see
Always blinds me.

So happy to see again…

Until it’s midnight.
